Meh...Stillwater is only an hour from the OKC and Tulsa airports. Plenty of people in truly big cities (which OKC is not, sorry) have to travel an hour to get to the airport within their own city. Few people fly often enough that being 20 minutes from the airport instead of 60 would make much difference.

Maybe, but very maybe, eventually Stillwater will get passenger jet service. Not having it is surely one reason industry doesn't want to locate there. It would be nice to have it bypassing OKC and Tulsa, land in Dallas-Ft. Worth and have many more non stop destinations to choose from there.

I doubt it. It's just way too close to other airports. (Again, a one-hour drive to the airport is the norm in many metro areas. Sometimes even longer than that.) Passenger service in Enid and Ponca City (which used to exist) made a little more sense because they're further out from OKC or Tulsa.

i gotta say, though, it really is no fun to return from a long day of flying and still have an hour or so of driving ahead before you can finally get home.

Yeah, but like he said, it is that much time from Allen Texas to DFW or LUV field, and this is really all one big city. With even more aggravating traffic.

Not really the norm for people who live in cities the size of Tulsa, though. I've actually lived in somewhat larger cities and have never had to drive that long from the airport.

Oh, well, sorry about your pessimism. I hope the air fare isn't priced too high.

WASHINGTON — The city of Stillwater will receive $447,000 to be used toward establishing commericial air services between Stillwater Regional Airport and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe announced Tuesday. - See more at: BREAKING NEWS: Stillwater airport receives grant to pursue commercial airline » Local News » Stillwater NewsPress
