Goodpasture, for you I'll knock off 20% of the asking price. The house, with 5 acres for 900K. I haven't been able to sell it anyway, so I figured I'd come down from the over 1 million dollar asking price it was at before.

Okay, Synopsis, What is the Jersey Devil? Also, you know we are not supposed to advertise, so what is this your putting up your house for sale? Maybe you and Computer Guy can trade homes. That way no one has to sale anything.

THANKS! We appreciate it... You'll even get the co-broke.
It will be good having a connection out there.

I don't think I'd put an offer on anything until I was there.
And the market here is moving, but SO SLOWWWWWWLLLLYYY,
we'd end up having to renew the agreement a whole lotta times.
Our place and many others have been on the market since September.

Then hopefully close soon enough so we can leave NJ by the end of January, beginning of Februrary. DH will come back and "babysit" the house, and I and my two teenagers will stay in OK. If the house doesn't sell in six months, we're going to rent it out until the market improves. He will continue his job search from New Jersey and if he gets a job before the six months are up, he'll come down and we'll just rent the house out. I really don't want to be an absent landlord, but things are moving SO SLOWLY here with house sales that I'm not planning on it selling. Preparing for the worse, hoping for the best.

Hi colleeng,
Your plan sounds even tougher than ours. I could never be away from my family like that. But... You'll have mostly everything in place by the time you get there.
And... You'll get there before us and grab up the good deals.
Yes, being an absent landlord would have a few bad ramifications... I've seen what people can do to rental houses.
The market here is pretty awful too. We under priced our place by $35K hoping for a quicker sale. It will hurt a little, but will allow us to accomplish our ultimate goals.
We'll struggle a bit, but the way the local economy has been here, we'll be struggling a bit anyway.
Keep us all posted... I'm especially interested in hearing your opinions on OK when you get there... Unless we sell before then... (crossing fingers)

Here you go jessaka. The name of the NJ Hockey Team is named after the Jersey Devil (The New Jersey Devils).

We're very interested in Bartlesville or the surrounding areas...
But we're keeping open minds until we actually get to OK in person.
Thanks for asking.

stay on topic jokes, huh? well, i was just worried that computerguy may have thought that we left him in the oklahoma dirt by our talking about other things, but he doesn't seem to mind.
i think i need to do some research now and see if bartleville is good enough for computerguy.

I'm from NH, and I've seen rustic in my time, but d*mn... That's just a bit too rustic for me. Reminds me of the Beverly Hillbillies.
But... If there were no neighbors...
I also don't think that's Synopsys' place, it has a URL on top of the photo.
And the price is a little high.... Unless it came with 400 acres or so.

I think you're narrowing it down to a pretty good area M. Bartlesville is a really cool city, and Tulsa is as well.
