Apologies to anyone who really speaks Creek
Didn't you mean "smart-a$$?
(Tried the "Shift/2 for the "A". but it starred it out (smart bot!)... How 'bout "smart-@ss"? Looks like that's allowed! )
I'm guessing you were referring to this comment?
"Looks like Peggy and Colleen got religion! "
Which I uttered after you and Colleen had a praise-fest
upon hearing anything even remotely technical would be restricted to the Okie Tech Thread.

If you think that was bad, you should see what they're saying about you in the Tech Thread now... Your formerly good name has been SO besmirched!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas to you, CG!

To keep my good mood I just don't read the tech thread.

Don't believe CG, Peg, we'uns is playing nice over in the tech thread. I am the fire-starter there.

CG, have you got your search narrowed down to a city/town yet? Or a county? We should start a pool to see who can guess where you will land in Oklahoma.

My guess is outskirts of Tahlequah, the prettiest part of the state. Or outside one of the larger cities like Tulsa or Bartlesville, so you can have lots of business for your IT work.

My guess as well. East Ok in Green Country is the best. And hey, it is great to have Muskogee close by for shopping.

I will pick Ponca City. Just a wild guess, but I think CG's values would fit in there the best, and there is opportunity in Ponca.

Hi guys!

There are a few general locations we're looking at North East and North West.
We'll have to look at both in person before deciding anything.

I was originally leaning towards outside of Tulsa, but there seems
to be a lot more property and options outside of OKC.
You can't get a real feel from pictures.

I'm also less sure now that I want to start my business all over again from scratch.
I may consider taking a straight job there, because:
A. Much less responsibility.
B. I might get a day off or vacation time. I haven't had either since 1998.
C. Benefits, Benefits, Benefits!
D. With the exception of having to deal with a few bad office personalities,
it will be 100 times easier than what I do now.
E. Lower, but STEADY paycheck.

Then again, I do LOVE what I do, so I'll make that decision when I get there and see how the land lays.

Also, the company I left to start my own business went out of business 20 days after I left... 3 days before Christmas! That would have s*cked if I wasn't on my own.
I REALLY don't like the idea of being at someone else's mercy. (Accept God of course.)

Needless to say, it will be a hard decision to make.

I'm surprised that Peggy mentioned Ponca.
That was the place my wife originally found,
but we later decided against it when I heard their
economy and commerce took a downturn.
I'm leaving here because a few of clients are going out of business and it looks like more will be soon. I don't want to be next!

I just keep praying that God will steer us in the right direction.

I'm always open to info and advice though.

Tulsa IT Jobs:

OkC IT Jobs:

http://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=IT+&l=Oklahoma+City%2C+ok

If you do go the regular job route, there are plenty of opportunities in both cities.

Also, Google just opened (or is opening) up a large data center in Pryor, about 20 miles outside of Tulsa. They are looking to hire several positions.

Pryor might be an interesting place to look for a home. This place is asking $59,500 and doesn't look bad.

Also, I checked out Pryor schools on www.greatschools.net and they all ranked consistently high 7, 8, and 9 out of a top rating of 10.

I would definitely look into Pryor, or ask more people who actually know the city.
