Good Evening to all you folks out there in Oklahoma. What a great birthday party was thrown in our honor and I loved watching "us celebrate us". There are some great pics posted of the parade on this site too. I live in Fort Gibson, the oldest town in Oklahoma. This year we celebrated our 175th anniversary. How lucky we are to get to celebrate twice in the same year.

Synopsis, here's an update. Last week I was privileged to drive from Idabel to Poteau on U.S. 259. The Ouachitas are breathtakingly beautiful. They are similar in size to the Virginia Cumberlands where I grew up, but their abundance of evergreen trees makes them look more like the Sierra Nevadas.
