Does anyone know of any? I've been watching the Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage in Missouri with interest (watching them online, that is) for a couple of years now. I hope to visit them the next time their visiting season is open again. I wish there was something in Oklahoma like what the Dancing Rabbits have created. I am feeling myself getting sucked back into consumerism and I'm fighting it, but I'm afraid that I might succumb at some point because I don't really have any kind of a support system or even know of anyone around here who is interested in sustainable lifestyles. Are you such a person? *hopeful look*

I have no idea what an intentional community is.
Maybe you can educate me.![]() |

Redbird, You are so funny. I don't know what they are either. What is their intention? I know that we have Sparrow Hawk Village here in Tahlequah, an intentional mystical Christian place where people live that are part of the group.

I think an intentional community is like a village or town that has all the people with one intention, like to be a Christian or to live an eco-friendly lifestyle. You have to be a member to live there, not like most towns and cities where people move in and out at random.
I think most of us would call them communes. I have always thought it would be neat to live in a commune. I would be in gardening. ![]() |

I thought you were talking about being gay or something. Sounds intersting, but don't think there are any back-to-the-earth people here (in Poteau). Even the amish type people shop at Wal-Mart and drive trucks! LOL!

Where did you find that photo?
Please don't tell me you took the time to shoot it yourself or PhotoShop it... If so, when we get down there, I want to hang with you... Heck... I'd wanna hang with anyone who has a sense of humor like that!. Even gave you a rep point for it. ![]() Last edited by TheComputerGuy; 11-16-2007 at 05:30 PM.. Reason: addition |

I ripped it off, like any other good red blooded american does when they see a good idea. I saw it on a philosophy forum. You know how deep those PhD's can get. Anyways it cracked me up.
I was not trying to belittle our Tulsavegan friend, nor her serious inquiry. My apologies if it came across that way. Quote:
