What if the DOI eventually had all Indian employees? That would be a victory.

Two-Spirit wedding. Anyone ever hear of the word "two-spirit?" Some tribes believe most people are born with the male spirit or the female spirit. But some tribes believe some people are born with the spirit of both male and female.
It is almost similar to being gay, but their role in society was much more accepted. They became medicine men/women and healers.
Here is a two-spirit wedding clip.

Here is an interesting news story, about Colorado. The only thing is they think only the Cherokees had the Trail of Tears. It was actually all the tribes from SE part of the US.

The Pottawatomies walked from the Great Lakes region to KS. A band of the Kickapoo went to Mexico and are located there now. Just think they would be considered illegal immigrants if they ever came to U.S.
The Cheyenne were marched to Oklahoma and were told to stay under threat of being fired on by the military. A portion of those snuck off and went north. Now we have the northern Cheyenne and Southern Cheyenne.
Our tribe was marched from Palo Duro canyon and made to stay in a cattle pen the first winter. There was not even a complete roof over the top. They had to sneak out at night to hunt for food because the beef the military threw them was often rotten.

I've read about that.
There sure are alot of cities in the Great Lakes Region with Indian names.
Even my home town was named after an Indian Chief,,,,,"Cadillac".

Those do sound like very neat vacations. We are going north this summer, but I don't know if we could go that far west. It might be worth it to add another 4 or 5 hundred miles on.
