Oklahoma Federation Of Indian Women 2009 Contest Pow-wow "Honoring the Legacy of a Mothers Love"
Saturday May 9,2009 12 pm to 12am Osage Million Dollar Elm Event Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma
Redbird, I didn't get to see the one about the Trail of Tears. I did get to see part of the Wounded Knee episode. They usually rerun them late Friday nights, but they're on so late I fell asleep. Will they be rerunning them this summer?

I am sure those episodes will be rerun at some point. It was a good series.
I thought the Trail of Tears episode was the best one I have ever seen. I am familiar with the Wounded Knee because it has been publicized and a book was written about the events.
It seems the day the two FBI agents were shot and killed, they were "reportedly" on the Rezervation to look into an alleged pair of stolen cowboy boots.
Since when is the FBI in charge of investigating a pair of stolen cowboy boots!? They must have been John Wayne's boots, or that was a sorry excuse.
Anyway, the FBI agents saw a car full of AIM members and turned around and chased the car full of AIM members. The AIM members were pulled over, shots were fired, so the AIM members returned fire. Two FBI agents lay dead. The whole story gets worse from that point on.
Those who were there have a few untold stories of their own which I won't go into, suffice it to say, Leonard Peltier is serving Life and will most likely never get out on account of a pair of stolen cowboy boots.
never thought about "frybread in a bag" as a pick up line..........maybe I should try it sometime (as a pick up line, that is......I love frybread, just hate to share it)
You're right. I doubt that Peltier will ever be released.
If anyone finds out when the series will be on again, I'd be interested. I still wish I could've caught the last part of "Wounded Knee". It totally surprised me that the story was about the most recent one from the 70s cause I remember that one well. I figured it'd be the story from back in the 1800s~the original Wounded Knee story.
Not sure if they showed it or not, but if I remember correctly, one or two whites were shot at the Wounded Knee standoff. They were there to support the Sioux and the guy was leaning against the wall sleeping and a bullet came through the building and killed him. They were a young couple, but it seems like she lived.
The Trail of Tears is the other one that I wish I could've seen. I had never even heard about it until reading it on the Okie forum a couple years ago. It was probably in our history books, but I only remember about half the things I learned back then.
