it'll be my very first thanksgiving so i'm looking forward to it. the plans have changed a little bit for us though. they always do thanksgiving at corey's parents on thanksgiving day but now they are moving it to saturday... a little weird but oh well ... what can ya do?

so on thanksgiving i have decided we'll do dinner just the two of us. i've never done it before and have never been to a thanksgivingdinner so any suggestions or ideas are welcome

i think i know the most typical things

Here's something that I'll bet most of you never heard of. My Irish grandmother always made mashed potato stuffing for the turkey. And I remember the year there was supposed to be something wrong with cranberry sauce and everyone was avoidiing it. My dad insisted on having it with his dinner and I can still see my aunt's expression of horror as he ate it. She was expecting him to keel over at the table I guess. Would sure ruin one fine dinner if he did.

I never heard of mashed potato stuffing, but it sounds good. We always had to have creamed tiny onions. Some people have creamed corn with oysters. That's good, but I am the only one who will eat the oysters now.
