Hi all!
Well, I decided to google Laverne in the hopes of finding some church addresses. Still haven't given up on that yet. Anyway, I found this site. I am trying to get addresses to churches in Laverne so as to write to get a copy of my Baptismal records. The church was my Grandmothers church. I was about 4 years old. What I do remember of the church was, as coming into town from the south. An A&W Root beer stand was on the right. Then a lot with trees. Then Grandma's church. I don't remember the name but I am sure that was the location. After church one night. My cousin, a friend and I were walking over to the A&W Root beer stand and I got a bad cut on my face. Bad enough to go to the hospital. The Baptism occurred outside of town in a small creak. Any body out that way that can help me? |

All the churches in the Laverne Area are listed at www.laverneok.org. The Apostolic Faith church is about 1/2 block N of what used to be the A & W. The Christian church is one block WSW of th A & W. The above website should help you contact the desired church. The Christian Church has an interim pastor. I am not sure when the Christian church was built at its present location but I think that they have always had a baptistry in their sanctuary. I don't think that the AFC has a baptistry. Does this help?
