I've always been fond of Oklahoma. Get ready Marianne for some humongous Spring and Summer thunderstorms!!! I live a bit farther to the northeast, in southwest Missouri, but I can tell you, Oklahoma is wonderful.

LOL, Those storms are part of the reason I want to move there! I love the monsoon season. The area we are headed to doesn't see much of the tornado season, and really isn't a concern. A tornado or hurricane can hit you in 75% of the U.S.
I really look forward to sitting on my deck watching the weather

Here is a thread on Cushing that was posted after yours. You might like to read about it.

Cushing?

Also not far from Cushing is Drumright (10 miles) and I saw on an Oklahoma travel show that they have a theatre, lots of antiques and a winery in Drumright.

Hello all,

First of all I want to apologise for not reacting for so long, but was fed up with so many things.
I want to thank you for your replies on my post and humbly ask for forgiveness.
We are now in the proces of selling our home here in the Netherlands, it will take some time, but will be sold within 1 or 2 months for sure. Average house price here in NL is about €250.000 which is about $325.000.
We are not still sure if we will buy or rent a home, but we are getting closer and closer to moving, it is a step by step process and we will get there some day.

Once again, thank you all very much and will keep up from now on.

Cushing is very nice ... I go through it on my way to OKC.

As a transplanted Dutch citizen who came here by way of Cape Cod, I know you will love it!!

But it's unfortunate how downtown Cushing is on the run down and abandoned side.
