Smile Hey ye all,Moving from the Neterlands to Cushing, OK

Hello everybody,

My name is Marianne Ouds****n, my husband, youngest kid and me want to live in Cushing, Ok.
We have been ther for 6 weeks from July 6 till August 17 this summer and decided we want to live there.
We are both are retired and our son wants to study or work there.
We really had a great time there with our friends and I want to thank them once again for that GREAT time
We did a lot of traveling around in Ok in these weeks and it is a great place to live..
What we love is the space thats there, the nice big houses, friendly relaxed people, the fact people actually talk to you for no reason is what I had missed for the last 40 years in the Netherlands..(sad but true), the CLEAR Steelblue sky, and the fact that the state of OK is 3 times as big as the Netherlands and there are only living about 4 million people(the Netherlands have somewhere between 16 and 17 million people living there), made it very clear to us we want to stay there.
We both worked hard all of our lives and just want some rest..and we found it In Cushing, Ok, a really great place to live..
Sherri, Janet, John, Misty and kids, thanks again for this wonderfull time.

We will be back

Koos, Marianne, Koos jr

I've never been to Cushing, but is seems like one of the better towns in the state. Not too far from Stillwater or Tulsa and OKC is pretty close too.

Herlijk wel.

It is certainly a different world, the US, and the Netherlands, and strange, but I only had good hellos (dag) whilst living in Amsterdam, but glad to hear you are going to retire and enjoy your life with friends in Okla.

Goeje riis!

Ummm it's "Y'all" , but if it doesn't come naturally skip it! I've seen many meetings go bad over the attempt to fit in with such phrases

KOOS, that's wonderful!!! Glad you found your "perfect spot" in life. We're unfortunately still undecided. When you relocate there, be sure to check out Tulsa. They have SO many nice things to see there. If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you a list of things to see in Tulsa. It's a very nice city, but just a bit too big for us. Also, be sure to visit Grove, OK. It is such a pretty little town and it's built around a lake. We just loved it there.

Hello Koosje and family.
I wonder... do you have any relations to this area (cushing) ? Relatives? Friends?
In my eyes it's a very big jump to go from NL to Cushing, OK, but you seen to mean it.
Do you need a new start in life or is it just the excitement in new places, new friends and another climate? When will you leave NL ?

I live in a even smaller country, Denmark, but simillar to NL, I think....
I love my country, and love to come back, when I've been out in the big world )

Have a nice life in OK!!!

Marianne Skov

Default Cushing

Cushing isn't too bad a town. I grew up down the road from there. It's got more going on than most of the other small towns in the area (Drumright, Stroud, etc). I'm not sure what work you will be looking for....there's probably not a lot of opportunities there, but Tulsa is close enough to drive to if it becomes necessary. It's definately a laid back atmosphere, I think you will enjoy that. Welcome to the state!!
