Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you'd worry about offending the "PC folk" about as much as I would.
The only difference is that you're in the right place to do it.

You poor kid... You'll get more out of OK than even we will.

Well, luckily I now work in the e-mail unit where we don't talk at all. Just type responses to nitwit taxpayers all day.

You have no clue what I mean by nitwit taxpayers. It's scary. The people on this forum are all literate and express themselves well. It's such a relief to me after reading convoluted, involved, completely not understandable questions all day long.

I caught the guys from Dean's hauling in a humongous cedar tree they cut down.
That is one big cedar. They are really a pest tree we are trying to eradicate, so they are doing a double good deed.
They have it up and are admiring their work. Tomorrow I wonder if they will decorate it.

I understand.
I've seem PLENTY of badly done e-mails and peoples' posts...
It like some kind of secret code.
If you're complaining about their inability to express coherent thoughts in text, that's OK... It never ceases to amaze me how with all the money we spend on education, how downright illiterate the general population appears to be...
(Believe me, I wouldn't be here if I had to decipher all the posts.)
But... If they're nitwits because the tax code makes no sense to them, well I'd have to be considered a nitwit also.
I remember the first time or 2 that I looked at the income tax forms and my eyes crossed... I pay someone to do that for me.
I'd hate to go to jail because I made a mistake in adding LINE 7 to the square root of LINE 6 and diving that total, by the amount of stars in the sky on Tuesday, then multiplying 18% of that total for LINE 9, then adding LINES 7 through 10 and dividing it all by Green....

I gave up on doing my own taxes years ago. I'm a very literal person and when I read some of those questions on the IRS forms I end up going in circles. Just earlier this year I ended up having to send in 1200 dollars in "extra" taxes that weren't mentioned on my 2005 return. And I had to pay interest to boot! It didn't matter that I never received a W2 from the employer I worked for at the time. I was a contractor and worked at least five jobs that year.
