It like some kind of secret code.

If you're complaining about their inability to express coherent thoughts in text, that's OK... It never ceases to amaze me how with all the money we spend on education, how downright illiterate the general population appears to be...
(Believe me, I wouldn't be here if I had to decipher all the posts.)

But... If they're nitwits because the tax code makes no sense to them, well I'd have to be considered a nitwit also.

I remember the first time or 2 that I looked at the income tax forms and my eyes crossed... I pay someone to do that for me.

I'd hate to go to jail because I made a mistake in adding LINE 7 to the square root of LINE 6 and diving that total, by the amount of stars in the sky on Tuesday, then multiplying 18% of that total for LINE 9, then adding LINES 7 through 10 and dividing it all by Green....

Just let me give a little advice to all of you. Even if (especially if) you pay someone to do your taxes === check them over yourself! You would be absolutely amazed at the amount of mistakes accountants make on income taxes. And I'm talking very basic stuff here. Not things they overlooked, but down right mistakes. I've had accountants advise people to do things that make no sense. Remember, you are the one who signs your returns, you are the one responsible for what's on them. You are the one who pays the penalties and interest if something is wrong. In fact I would have to say in all honesty that the stupidest mistakes I've seen were done by a "professional".

(off my soapbox now)
