Lightbulb Moving from Grove, Ok to anyother small town

Hi I have been having some problems and I am looking to leave Grove as soon as possible. I need to find a small, friendly town with good schools. The only problem is I have a VERY limited income. I need to find somewhere where I can get a home to rent (buy later) for under $700 a month. And it has to be out of Oklahoma and Missouri. Any suggestions?

Sorry you have been having problems. Maybe Arkansas would be a good place.

Post Any body else?

That's ok my problems are with my mom and dad. My dad wants to move to illinois but I don't think I could handle how cold it gets up there. So I am trying to find another place to move that I could convence my parents to move to. I don't know but I will certinly keep Arkansas in mind.

Well, I used to live in Wisconsin. It gets cold there but it is not windy to chill you to the bone like it is here in OK sometimes. It is fun to have the snow==skating and tobogganing, were fun.

Maybe your dad will see how expensive it is to live in Illinois, and he will change his mind.

Musicgirl, I'm so sorry you've been having problems at home. Why does your Dad want to move out of Grove? Does he think the employment in Ill. will be better or something? Grove is SUCH a nice place. It's actually our fave little town in Ok. You are so lucky to live there. Is there a possibility that you could stay with relatives or stay with a friend that lives in Grove?

SinCity, you lucky guy!!! I take it that you left Vegas and have relocated to Grove?

Yes, I am a lucky lady to have chosen Grove, OK as my new home and not a single regret. I originally had chosen Tahlequah, not because I like it as well but because of larger population and employment base, but ran into problems finding a house to rent. Very few available, gone quickly and not many to choose from that would allow my dog. I'm glad the house hunting problem made me look to Grove instead. Definitely doesn't have a lot of employment opportunities but if I am going to plant new roots, it ought to be not just the area I like most but also the city. Luckily, my income needs are fairly minimal so I will find acceptable employment one way ot another!!

My dad actually cheated on my mom up here and as you can imagine we aren't going to stay here the woman is syco and won't leave my dad alone. Other than that you guys are right it is really nice here. The lake is soo much fun in the summer. Due to this we had to sell our boat though... And I heard that the City Of Grove is looking for work if you want to apply I don't know what job it is but I think it is in the office. Oh and living with my realitives would be worse than living in a zoo. Don't even ask.

You can''t control what your parents have done, Musicgirl, so I won't really comment too much on that. It says a lot about not cheating because it only leads to big problems.

I hope things get better for your family.

I think rather than going to Illinois I would think about Texas. Most of the rest of the country is not doing that well economically right now, but Texas is still doing well and has opportunities for employment.

Some of my relatives, living in the monkey house would be a big improvement over living with them.

The Rogers, Springdale area of Arkansas is booming right now. It's a gorgeous place, especially a little further east toward Beaver lake.
