Well, they're somehow getting away with it. I have to drive at the speed limit in Oklahoma because of the no-tolerance laws. I'm serious, Peggy. I get paranoid driving in Oklahoma. The last thing an Okie police officer needs is my money.

How anyone can drive over the speed limit in OK is beyond me (that's definitely a dare). He/she'd have to be one brave soul to do that, and I can't see Okie-land easing up any time soon.

When I used to commute to OKC every day, we all hit 80+ mph at a steady pace during the morning rush along I-40 east of OKC.

The slow lane was for older cars who stayed at 70 mph. From Shawnee on to OKC that hwy was a bullet lane.

Talking seat belt laws

I haven't been in OK for 7 years, mainly traveling from MO to see family in TX.I'd always get a warning for speeding and not having my seat belt on. It use to be a cheap ticket for seat belts in OK and MO, I got to OR and it's a $90.00 ticket, mandatory court appearence and court costs-ends up around 190.00. My neighbor got one. They can issue tickets in parking lots here, you don't have to be on the road I have never been anywhere where the tickets are so expensive, some speeding tickets are $300-500.00. I drive like a little old lady here I am truly afraid to get a ticket.

I'm sitting here on the porch and GP is finishing up a report
so he won't be privy to what I say until it's too late....

I've only met maybe 6 people in my entire life that were as good and decent as Mr. Curmudgeon and Dutchie.... And that includes relatives.

My biggest problem upon entering OK was that I was more worried about getting stopped for going UNDER the limit with the %$$# trailer I was hauling....

I could get used to going 70 and 75 pretty easily now.

Any resemblance between me and a nice guy is purely coincidental. Schousse, on the other hand, more than makes up for me........

LOL! You're funny.

GP is probably like me, his bad side is like a summer storm, a lot of wind and a lot of noise, but they don't do much damage.

At least not very often.

Who's bad side would you like to witness in full fury??

I bet LR would be like a she-bear protecting her young, if she ever got riled up. And I would bet Peg and Colleeng would have the fury of a wicked black pantheress! All shrieking and hissing and slashing!

Those quiet ones are the ones you have to watch.

Me, I am like the lowly humble turtle, retreating to my shell to hide and peek out when the dangers gone.

I've met LR and that's one person I wouldn't want to tangle with.
