Cool More Power, Aarr, Aarr, Aarr

I'll stick with my Sig. 9mm P226 State Trooper model pistol. Nicely wieghted and it can be changed over to a 40cal. with just a couple of parts changes.

When I worked with the SEAL teams, I found that had tested the Beretta, Glock and Sigsaur, and they found that the Sig P226 9mm held up to the all of the test they threw at it. And now its standard issue in the teams.

I also have a 7.62mm SKS (for shooting grounhogs), a Marlin/Glennfield bolt action 22mag. also great for shooting the woodchucks and a old Titan 38spec. police revolver thats great for target practice.

I could never fault a Sig....

Also owned an SKS, I gave it to my friend before I came to OK...
Not a bad gun depending on the guy behind it and the ammo....

But for home defense...
9mm easily penetrates walls and 2X4s for that matter
(sideways even and even with high quality hollow points at indoor type ranges)
and so do rifle rounds... I "suppose" they're all OK as long as BJB is behind you and you have no close neighbors. If we were talking power and accuracy, I'd opt for .308 or 30.06, but we're talking home defense....

Your right about the .308 and 30.06, but a handgun is better for close quarter combat than a long gun in my opinion. And with the 40cal. change over you can also switch to "Hydrashocks" thats what most PD's use in this area, great knock down power, without passing threw to many malls.

Old technology for civilians Seabiscuit (To coin a phrase from RB)...
(I legally possess some Ranger XST rounds in 9mm)

Consider this:

in #4 shot?

Small enough to get around with, powerful enough to do the job, and less likely to hurt the folks in the next room or next door...

Yeah, I'm nit-picking, but for the sake of a friendly debate, I'm sure yo can play along...

Hey CG,

I'm surprised you never went with the fold-out stock on that little beauty of yours.
