I just watched the report on CNN on Hennessey. It seems the community that was hit was actually Lacey. Lacey is now nothing more than a closed service station and a historic marker. The north side of Lacey is the quarter section that grandma's dad homesteaded after the land rush. Schousse and I were over there about two months ago, and the tenants of the house in front of great grandpa's house said they have had more than one tornado pass over them. Looks like it happened again. FWIW, the old homestead is falling down, and after more than 100 years, the wind still hasn't torn it down.

Great Granddad's homestead....where he raised 13 kids

OMG, 13 kids! And when I watch HGTV "house hunters" there are sooooo many couples in a 1800-2200 sq ft house looking for "more space" because they have two kids. Have we become spoiled!

Yeah, but the HFTV folks don't have 160 acres. Besides, except in bad weather, every one lived (ate, slept, and cooked) outside.

Most of it is good reading.
Thanks, CG! I did enjoy reading those articles.

Hope everyone made it through the rough weather yesterday.

Was it really? We noticed a few small branches in the yard and one of my potted plants was a little bent... We slept right through it though.

I woke up in the middle of the night from the howling of the wind.
It really wasn't that bad, but it's been the strongest wind since I moved here 10 mo's ago.
