Popular or unpopular Chickrae. Maybe famous or infamous? I've been on here awhile, that's the only reason I am everywhere. City Data is a great forum and the Oklahoma forum is THE BEST of all.
Welcome..

Well...
Technically...
You were originally an Okie...
But you've been a Texan for a LONG time...
And you may or may not be a "Joisy" depending on where you end up...
(What the heck is a good derogatory term for a Pennsylvanian?)

My Brother, as soon as I can find the time or the energy to visit, I WILL be there. You and your family are a fine addition to Oklahoma. Keep the faith, okay?
Please give me one of your axxes, yes? Those bass guitars you own are something I covet.
Working in an office environment is tiring!

Tsk...Tsk...
It's not good to covet.
Besides, they're only wood, steel and plastic...
NICE wood , steel and plastic, but none the less, just material things...
You have better things than that.
But you could play them all you like...
(I was earlier...)

Yes, corporate America is tiring, although I have to say that Bell Helicopter is one of the most pleasant corporate environments that I've EVER worked in. It's almost like a throwback to 30 years ago, and that's a good thing. Where I work it's basically a huge machine shop where they make all of the tools and dies for the helicopters. Everyone there is more of a lunch pail type; there are 3 unions there and it's old school, but in a good way. Every couple of hours you hear a big alarm that tells the union guys it's time for their 15 minute break.
There are just a few of us office workers and about a hundred "real" workers; the ones that actually make things. They are all good people that have worked there for 20, 30, or even 40 years. All of the managers that I work with have been there most of their lives. Outside of Bell is often referred to as the "Real World" and they are correct. It's an entirely different culture than any other place I've ever worked.
As for you CG, I am NOT a TEXAN or a PENNSYLVANIAN!! I'm an Okie!
MK, Amish Okie.. Good one.

I dunno...
18 years in TX pretty much qualifies you for the moniker of "Texan"....
The only thing that makes you appear less than Texan is that you don't
care much for Stevie Ray Vaughn...
(I think you can be lynched for that in TX)...
Here's a little test....
Do you remember the Alamo?

Except, I'm pretty sure a good Amish man would NOT be on a computer...
They're too smart for that....
(Not being facetious either.)
