And here in Hooterville it's 109.9 and rising. It's like walking into a wall of little sledge hammers to go outside. That's actually the temp at the airport and it's a few [very few] degrees cooler in town, but even with a breeze and shade trees, it's HOT!

Yes, it looks like Southern Ok and Northern Texas are really getting the brunt of this..
Ouch! Is it REALLY 110 in Holdenville? I checked the temperature on the web and it says 98.

Check Weather Underground. I have it set to update every minute or so, and the readngs come from the airport.

I just checked it again, I get updates from PWS [whatever that is] and Airport, and it's now 111.7. Yesterday was 110.3 [I think]. A couple days ago one of my neighbors took me to the grocery [way too hot to walk a mile or so] and the thermometer in her car said 104 - but then she said her car'd been parked in the shade all day, too.
