Note to Mikey:
If you are in the Panhandle let me know and I'll make some calf fries for you, they're delicious and I'll tell you what they are later .
As far as the cowboy hats, they are pretty much standard here in the Handle.
The girls really are gorgeous.
We can usually tell tourists around our parts because they hop out of their vehicles while on the road and catch a tumbleweed and throw it in their trunk.
That or have their kid next to an oil well for a picture...that's always a good laugh .

Or just go to any of our 78 casinos. I am going to The Firelake Grand casino today to eat. They have some pretty good concerts there too.

Peggy, thanks for the pictures. As far as being flattering, they look pretty much like what you said, taken after an ice storm on a dreary day. But the pics of the town were fine. I saw a lot of familiar things (Staples, McDonald's, Walmart (boo!), Chili, etc.), and since I'm not a big fan of chain stores, I was glad to see other names I didn't recognize.
Thanks again. I appreciate it.
BTW, I don't purchase gas at stations that buy their oil from the middle east. Are any of the following stations in OK? BP; Citgo; Sunoco; LukOil? Those are the ones I patronize. I would hate to have to drive back to New Jersey every time I need gas! LOL

Citgo was a Tulsa based company (I believe) until they moved their headquarters to Houston years ago. I believe you should find Citgo and Sunoco in Oklahoma, maybe BP as well. I don't know about LukOil though.

I seem to remember one of those FWD FWD emails.

Actually, Citgo is owned by the Venezuelan Government. I read that on their website.

I thought Citgo was Venezuelan. You can always buy gas at Love's. I doubt whether they sell any gasoline from middle eastern oil.

I got that e-mail too, but if you check it out on Snopes.com there's more to it. I still patronize them.

The Best Christmas Present Ever
I've gotten some really nice things over the years, and many wonderful things this morning, but my almost-16 year old daughter gave me the best gift ever. It was a beautiful silver frame from "Things Remembered" (don't know if you have that store in OK). The inscription on the top reads "Mothers and Daughters", and below the picture area is an inscription "Best Friends." One of those gifts that make your eyes "leak." She's so precious. Makes me feel extra special when I hear conversations from all the women who are always fighting with their teen daughters. Not that we don't disagree, but underneath we're very close. I was never really close to my mom, although she was a great mother, we just didn't "jell", and I was determined that wasn't going to happen with my daughter. I hope, except for minor ups and downs, things pretty much stay this way.
Merry Christmas all.

That's sweet Colleen. Merry Christmas all!
PS. If you really want to keep money from going to the mideast or even Venezuela, you can outfit your vehicle to run on propane; most of the money will stay right in Oklahoma.
