Oklahoma football is simple. If OU wins, walk around smug like you own the world. If they lose, walk around smug like you own the world and mutter "next year."

Chili can have beans. You just add them after it is cooked. Kidney beans do not belong in Chili....only pintos or anasazi are worthy of a good chili. The best meat is coarse ground mule. Venison runs a close second. The only spices are powdered peppers (preferably from Chimayo in New Mexico), cumin, garlic, oregano, and onion. NEVER add tomatoes. Diced jalpenos and habaneros and serranos are ok. If it makes your eyes water and after you catch your breath you say, breathlessly, "Holy s***," you have a GOOD bowl of chili.

Added:.....serve with flour tortillas.....warm and dripping with butter. Fold the tortilla and scoop it up. For every bite of chili, have four bites of tortilla. Have lots of COLD beer on the side.

I ate too much chili. It was almost too hot, but I put a spoonful of sour cream on my chili. But maybe one piece of cold cornbread would be good.

Jammie, have you been having a blizzard in SD today? I read about snow & ice up your way. Sounds cold! Wish I could send you some chili!

Maybe a bowl of Ice Cream for dessert? Oooh! Or crumble the cornbread into a glass of cold milk! *yum* That was a 'favorite' bedtime snack for our kids... Cornbread and milk with a squeeze of honey.

We had leftover Ham & Beans tonight with Fried Taters and sweet tea.
