What irks me beyond all else are the harvest programs that collect email addys which are used shotgun style to find just one customer who will pay for something. I seriously and sincerely hate all those xxx-rated ones that show up from so many different names there's no way to block all of them. Or even some of them. I also don't like the ads that are sent out by various sites I buy from, but I figure that's a fair enough trade. I'm a proven customer, and at least emails don't result in slick catalogs that get tossed, so I think of them as tree-saving.

You can stop the XXX rated emails by adjusting your "security" level.

What I'm getting alot of right now are "Money transfer Scams". I fell for one at first and lost close to $5.000.00.,actually I lost the whole amout. They send me a check for $8.500.00. in my name. I cashed it keeped 10% and transfered the rest to the address given. Come to find out the check was bad and the bank it came from didn't exist. So guess who had to pay the bank back. I lost the $4.900.00 in my account plus over draft fee and an over draft of $3.600.00. I'm still paying.
It couldn't be tracked because it was in Vigeria.
If you ever get one of these scam forward it to spam@uce.gov

NEVER EVER trust anything like this you see on the Internet. The Nigerian scam has been going on forever.
These "fwd, fwd, fwd" emails everyone is talking about, I've never seen that.

CG,
Good Morning,
Welcome back!
How are you feeling this morning?
Thanks for the links.
Yes, I really felt like a fool falling for that scam because I'm usually more suspicious and less trusting.

Wayy back in the day, I was trying to get Don interested in the internet. Sounds good, right? Well... one of the things that came about with the internet was email. And with the email came... the "fwd fwd fwd" ad nauseum crap. At first, I thought it was mainly a workplace thing, then I thought it was a female thing.
It was fun at first, there were quite a few cutesy fwd fwd emails.... but now, I am sick to death of fwd fwd's. Add to this phenom was I have a lot of ex-coworkers and cousins and distant friends and cyber pals and I hate to say it, but I JUST DON'T DO FWD FWD's anymore.
Don, on the other hand, is pretty new to the internet AND the FWD FWD FWD phenomena. So, every night now, we have to wade thru all his FWD FWD FWD crappy email.
He can't open some, and is still baffled by the mechanics of the whole computer arena.
Anyone else sick of fwd fwds? If you are not sick of them.... let me know. Don will add you to his address book.

I got tired of fwds very quickly. I had an out of town friend who kept asking me a few yrs ago. "When are you gonna get email?" Well, when I did she blasted me w/numerous forwards. Many of them were repeats! I would write her a note about things that were going on with us & she'd reply something to the effect, "I don't have time to write long letters." I v-e-r-y seldom send a forward. We've asked my hubby's sisters not to send forwards - we'd rather hear about them & their kids. They got angry with us! Now, we filter most of our forwards to another folder.
Don, please don't add me to your address book .

Those infamous pix were in one, I just forwarded it from the original poster. You want to see what it looked like when I got it?
Like I said, I have my friends and family pretty well trained, so if I get one from one of them, I know it's probably worth the effort.

I survived work, but I'm about ready to fall on my face now.
Thanks for asking.
I discovered those sites a couple of years ago.
I figured you might enjoy watching the scammers
get messed with for a change.
Some of those stories are hilarious.

Since you all seem to want to see some snow, I'd really like to fwd what we got last night. I've got about 5" on my deck since about midnight, and 15 miles east they have easily twice that. Al least I know it won't last long, it will undoubtedly start raining any minute, then all will be mush and slush. Yuck.
