Default Tahle-what?

Yesterday I heard a report on FOX news channel from a reporter who's driving coast to coast talking about the election. He had left Arkansas and was getting ready to meet with some Cherokee folks in Tahlequah. He pronounced it Ta LEEK wah. ????? Took me a few seconds to realize what he meant.

I've seen Tahlequah listed in relation to a ferry terminal somewhere here in Washington and just assumed it was the same...but maybe not...so I posted a question on the Washington forum and found out it's pronounced the Okie way.

They should send that FOX reporter on a road trip between Natchitoches, Louisiana and Nacogdoches, Texas. Then he'd really get his tang all toungled up.
