Yes, Roger is just one of the many celebraties from Oklahoma. So sad though Roger is no longer with us, but I believe one of his sons (not born in OK) is following in his foot steps.

You know, I'm somewhat surprised that reba doesn't live here. She seems to love it here so much. I know its more convenient for her to be in Nashville (?) though.

I've thought this too! I don't know anyone in Oklahoma who talks like her! I don't even watch her show anymore because I can't handle her accent. I only watched when they were in re runs anyway. Maybe most people think she's from Texas since she portrays that on the show!

I have heard people in far southeast OK talk like Reba does. It is a little put-on, in my opinion.

I would never pick that area, around Durant, myself. Maybe it was just the people I knew there. Some of them, not all. There were some educated people there, but too many of them took some kind of pride in being uneducated.
