Great photos.
I have lanterns when needed, but I also want a wood stove. With water, a wood stove, and lanterns you don't need the generator that we bought. You could take your food out of the refrigerator and store it outside in ice chests, etd. Somehow that would have to be done so wild animals can't get into it. You can cook on a wood stove and make warm water for baths. Of course I have my stove top to heat and cook if needed. They claim it is dangerous but my ex-mother-in-law used to heat the entire house with a gas oven. No one died. |

I have never seen any warnings about cooking too long with a gas over. I have used the oven for heat before.
Those generators are dangerous. My DD said her professor could not give the final exam himself because he and his family were in the hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning because of a generator. I hope they are all OK. |

Sad to see the trees that are damaged and hope the area recovers from that ice strom. Norman looks like Connecticut or western Massachusetts.
Nice photos PeggyDavis....... |

Thanks for the pictures peggy. Norman is such a beautiful town and I hope that not too many trees were damaged.

That was the worst area I saw. I think most of the trees will be able to recover. I did not see any of the big beautiful trees that looked like they were goners.
Most people already had their fallen branches sawed up and out of the streets. It must have been terrible the first few days. |
