"I'll Be Home For Christmas" has always been one of my favorites. Can't say why...I just like it. We were at Butchart Gardens (Victoria, BC) last week to see the gardens in Christmas lights. I requested the song from the brass quartet that was playing after dinner.

"Chestnuts..." that many of you have mentioned is really titled "The Christmas Song". The music and some of the lyrics were written by Mel Torme. The leader of the brass quartet last week was telling the story that it was written in the heat of summer when the lyricist was jotting down wintery thoughts to keep cool.
