Ah well... might as well bore everyone and not just Jessaka. I hope this still qualifies as "tech" stuff... it does show what else you can do with your comp if you have the right software and you are bored.
Landscapes:
Moonlit Canyon
River of Gold
Alien World
Moonspell
Long way down
Sandcastle
These are a few of my Fractals.
Clover
Bluey
Flutterblue
Nebulous
Starplay
And this one started out as a fractal...went through some changes and came out a landscape.
Fractal-land?
(nuts gotta fly... grassfire up the road from me and one not far from my dad. )
Be back!

Yeah, what's up with all the grass fires?
Is this a common thing in OK?

I'm in Duncan... But yes it is very dry right now. Not uncommon in the wintertime down here. Winter 2005 was awful.
The fire nearest my place was tiny and out in a few minutes... the one I had to call Dad about was a mile North of his property and they are just getting it wrapped up right now. Depending on the winds, fire can travel that mile pretty quickly.
Now there is another bigger one to the south of us on Hwy 81 and Refinery road.
They are supposed to put us under a Burn Ban pretty soon. (I hope it comes quickly)
Even with all of the rain we had this year, it only takes a week or so of wind to make everything crispy dry. *sigh* Time to start praying for rain... (and unroll my garden hoses 'just in case')

I hope you get some relief, it's supposed to rain here tomorrow; maybe you'll get some of it up there. BTW, those are really neat designs.

You're gonna have to get used to differences in Oklahoma. Grass fires down around Duncan are frequent. In Tulsa they are rare. south of OKC they are frequent. North of OKC they are rare. East of I35 we get a lot of rain. West of I35 we don't. East and south of Tulsa are nice hills and mountains. West of OKC it is pretty flat. Tornado's are common in Noble County. They are rare in McCurtain County.
For example, the Oklahoma Climatological Society provides this map of normal rainfall.
Here is a "count" of tornados over a 46 year period
Some counties get a tornado every year, some get them every three or four years or less.

We're #45. Too close to TX if you ask me.
No offense meant to anyone.
It's just that I lived south of Houston in my younger days. That's when the Astro Dome was fairly new. The humidity on OK. is nothing compared to that.
You can Have it.

Fractals are awesome
LR, those pics are awesome. I don't know what fractals are, sounds like something you get on your body.
I need to learn how to back up all my computers programs. Do I just buy a CDRW? We are heading towards spring and you know what that means. DONDERSTURMS!
My last computer was fried. Literally. Lightning hit the tree outside our house and the lightning ran into the ground and hit the phone line and blew out one entire wall of electrical outlets.
The phone jack was blown across the room. I can't find the pic of my computer, but here is a pic of the shed that was at the base of the tree. BTW, the tree lived.
