If you use Google much, you've seen how the letters are created differently for different celebrations, like for Halloween the letters were made of witches and goblins and jack-o-lanterns, or for the 4th of July, the letters were all fireworks-y. For the 50th year celebration of Legos, the letters were created like stacks of Legos. Then, if you hold the cursor over it, it will tell you what celebration it is. Handy, for various odd birthdays and such. And it's interesting to see what they come up with for various holidays, anniversaries, and events.

Speaking as a computer guy, it is more interesting to see new problems instead of the same old stuff all the time.
If you have low vision, there are a LOT of options available to you that could help you immensely.
Let me know what your specific issues are and I can probably get you going in the right direction.
I have a lot of experience in assistive technology...
I have 2 friends who are 100% blind that I help out all the time.
Both of them do more with their computers than the average user.

There were 2 DMs.
One was just 2 quotes, the other was the actual message you sent, and I responded to it.

I always thought there was only one Google, so why, if they both go to the same site, would one be different from the other?

If you're using the default FireFox homepage, it is Google, but it's a modified URL,
so it's slightly different. Also, it may have to do with your cache refreshing.
Besides.... Why would you want to use IE?

It did it again! I just sent a reply to this and the connection died!
Anyway.
I use IE because I just don't like the look of Firefox. Not entirely rational, but there it is. But it has quirks, anyway. It's supposed to be disabled so that IE is the default, but links in emails always open into Firefox. Urls I can copy and paste into IE, much nicer. IE is also closer to my beloved old Netscape, which is no longer what it used to be, either.
As for my vision difficulties, I'll DM you another time. It's too depressing to even think about today. Or share with the entire world.

Don't feel bad, Kari, my vision and Don's is very bad, as we are both diabetics. I change the screen resolution, but that cuts off part of the screen, and causes the bar on the bottom to disappear, so I just change it back.
Besides, I like high resolution for the porn... DOH! did I say that out loud?

Yes, you said it out loud!
But your vision is correctible, right? Or you wouldn't be able to drive. My 'official' diagnosis from the ophthalmologist is "Well, you aren't exactly blind, but you sure can't see sh*t." And there's no way [yet] to correct it.

Fanboy here, I took Synopse's and CG's advice and downloaded Firefox. I also have something called TweakNow Reg Cleaner which I am hoping will clean up my reg. We will see how fast Firefox really is...
It keeps saying "...sending this nonencrypted may allow a third party to read this..."
UPDATE: uh oh, now I'm screwed. I can't play youtube, it wants me to download the latest adobe, and then it says I have to close firefox.

That sounds scary!
Try this, my son seems to like it a lot:
PC Repairs Freeware | Advanced WindowsCare Personal | Free PC Repair Fix Software Service | Computer Cleaner
As for me, I like to do it manually.

You can make it stop saying that.
Also, FireFox is not particularly fast, but it is WAY more secure, and I like the fact that it's extensible.

Gonna need more details...
I have no problems with FF, YouTube or Adobe in either Windows or Linux.
Is it possible that you're blocking a pop-up?

It does sound like Firefox is blocking a popup. As for the latest Acrobat, you shouldn't need that for Youtube. Give me a call if you still have my number redbird and I can walk you through this.
