That's because in Windows, it's TOOLS - PREFERENCES.
Synopsis was quoting from his Linux.

Ooops!
(CG wipes egg from face...)
That would have been my second choice, but I was too lazy...
Ummmm... I mean, in too much of a hurry to boot up Windows to verify that.
I only have to do Windows at work, at home I'm 95% Linux.
So... Are the winds and grass fires under control in Duncan yet?
I saw the pics you posted... It certainly doesn't seem to be boring in OK.
I'm starting to get the feeling that Okies are so nice because they're so busy fighting the elements that they don't have time to get into trouble.

hee hee I just couldn't resist...
The winds and the fires are still a problem right now. Those few paltry snowflakes yesterday didn't prevent another fire from happening.
KSWO just ran a story last night about one of the volunteer depts. near us... they are down to only two trucks because of damage.
KSWO, Lawton, OK- Wichita Falls, TX: News, Weather, Sports. ABC, 24/7, Telemundo - Corum Fire Department down to two trucks
More on the fires:
The Duncan Banner - Fires erupt in area
A little rain or snow would be nice right now!

Oops! I forgot that the web browser for Linux would be different than Windows in its layout. Sorry MK.

You are starting to get the picture, CG. Here the main conflict is man vs nature.

Is that Computer Guy still around or any techie? I have an ongoing problem with sbcglobal.net (AT&T DSL). Sometimes, not always my DSL decides it does not want to work. Here is the strange part. I can lay my receiver on the table, off the phone, and the DSL works find. The DSL was installed by a computer tech who installs these things daily. AT&T has shifted my problem from their self support, to their chat board, to some techie in the Phillipines, to another phone call which hung up in the middle of my answering my phone. So I have reached the conclusion that no one there is wise enough to tell me why I can not have a phone and DSL at the same time. This happens about the same time in the evenings and maybe 3 or 4 days in a row and then not again for months. It is driving me up the wall. Windows XP here.

What receiver are you talking about? There are DSL modems, is this the receiver you are talking about? Please clarify what you mean by laying your "receiver on the table, off the phone" and maybe I can help. Off the top of my head, it sounds as if you have an interference issue, but you'll need to clarify what you are talking about.
