That was interesting, Colleen, about the differences you noticed.
Where we live it is very quiet. Sometimes I hear a noise and wonder what it is. It turns out to be a jet aircraft high in the sky. At night, especially in the winter when the humidity is low, the stars put on a big show.

Had an x-ray done today on my wrist. Turns out I had a fracture. My doctor sent me to an orthopedist who put me in a "short arm cast." I'm having a heck of a time typing with this cast, and since I type all day on my job, I don't know how it's going to work out. The orthopedist said to take this week off and try it on Monday to see how it goes. The cast won't come off for five weeks! I"m still determined to get some packing done this week, though.

Good that you went to the doctor and found out it was broken, Colleen. It will heal faster now that you have the cast on.
You can practice typing with your cast on the forum.

I broke my hand once. They put it in a cast, and the cast hurt my shoulder due to it being heavy, so my husband took it off as requested, and then he made a splint with a piece of flat copper. He is a plumber. When I went back to the doctor he was upset, but it healed well.

Colleen,
I too type all day, medical transcriptionist, and I broke my right wrist on Friday. I need to work. Any suggestions? Tell me about your recovery, please? The cast is turning my hand and arm in a position that prevents me from getting my fingers on the keys. My fingers are also going numb when I type. Any suggestions? How did you do?

Actually, I was out on disability for five weeks. I did type at home, though on the computer, using only my left hand for a while. Then I found if I got my arm/hand into a certain position, I could use both hands, but couldn't type for long periods of time. Are you able to claim disability benefits?

My thoughts exactly. Voice to text conversion applications these days are light years ahead of their predecessors.
