I believe you.

It was like that up here when we first moved...
But it changed over the last 5 years.

Hope it lasts longer in OK.

Also regarding the actual properties not living up to the RE pictures...
If you remember correctly, I DID warn you about that...
We went to see a lot of places (in NH) where the pic looked pretty good,
but when we actually got there.... EWWWWWWWW!

Yes, I do remember you saying that. So true. We have about 6-7 houses to see the inside of tomorrow that we've already seen the outside of. The lots are very small in a lot of the houses we saw, which I didn't particularly care for. I'm beginning to feel we need a LOT more time.

Looking at 6 or 7 houses in one day. Sounds like a lot of work!

I can't remember very many times when people in OK were not happy. I'm glad you are liking it here so far.

There are many small lots in these additions. I don't like that at all, and the main reason we will move. I want to live in the country so badly.

colleen, make sure you give your neighbors more than a passing glance too. It would be horrible to find a great place and then move next door to some crappy neighbors. They exist everywhere, even in Oklahoma.

YES! Bad neighbors can be worse than a bad house or lot.
Too bad you can't interview them before you buy.

Check out how well they maintain their house, if they have 6 cars always parked out front, peak over the fence if you can - all of that. Bad neighbors ARE worse than a bad house - you're right CG.

Sounds like you're having the same problem we had when we moved to the North Country.

We had this preconceived idea that there would be LOTS of large lots conveniently located, minutes from work and commerce. We found that it doesn't work that way unless you have LOTS and LOTS of money to burn.

And Synopsis is right... DO pay attention to whom you'll be living beside.
I LOVED it here before the redneck moron family moved in above their parent's house next door to me.... What utterly YUCKY people they are.
Totally ruined my beautiful North Country experience.

Looks like I won't be making it to the lunch at Cattleman's. A minor crisis is happening in a real estate office with their computer system. So I have to go to Pryor tomorrow instead of OKC. Bummer......I was looking forward to meeting you all.

Sorry to hear that GP. It is going to be interesting. So far it is Colleen & family, Jess5, and me and my DH. We will meet outside, or if anyone comes in later, ask for the peggydavis table.
