I know the place you're talking about. We ordered from there once when we caught it open. It was pretty good! And yep, it does smell REAL good.
Amy's is directly across from Nichols grocery store. It's a pretty small place but boy is it big in taste!! Yum Yum!! When we're having a large get together and we want to order take out, we call and order up several pounds of the sliced brisket for putting on buns. Add a little tater salad or slaw and, boy oh boy, is it good!

I've been all over there, and I don't remember seeing that place at all. Is there more than one antique store? The one I'm thinking of is only a few blocks from my house, but then, I just found out that what I thought was a store selling lawn tractors and lawnmowers is really a pawn shop. It would certainly help if there were street signs, and people actually put signs on their business - like the sign for the feed store is on an empty building, and the real one is across the street from it. I think I know where Amy's is, but as I recall, they're closed by the time I get into town. I do know where the bakery is, but I have no idea what the name of it is - they have lovely yummies.

Sigh. If that's where Amy's is, then I don't pass it regularly. There is another one downtown that's supposed to be really good - actually, I know of 3 that are supposed to be really good - but they all open very early for breakfast, and by the time I come to life, they are closed for the day. And two of them are across the highway at the north end of town, so I'd have to go all the way into town to find a stop sign to cross the road to get to them.

If it's in the same area as the liquor store and the new Sharpe's, that's the one. I like all the cookies I've tried, and the German chocolate cake is wonderful!

Kari, the BBQ I was referring to is two bldgs directly south of the pawn shop selling baby tractors and lawn mowers that you talked about.
As a matter of fact, that green bldg on the right in the pic I posted above is right next to the pawn shop you mentioned.
I have been to Amy's, Cherokee. You are right, they are really good. They also make huge pots of pinto beans! I load up on the beans because they are so cheap. Gotta love these small towns for hidden gems that cook up a storm.

Okay, now I know where it is - on the wrong side of the highway. It's a real pain getting over there.

The next thing you know you'll be breaking Lola so you can ride to all this food. OR you could get a cart and hitch up the dogs, and awaaaaay she goes.
