I don't live in Durant now, but have in the past.

Stay in the High Meadows apartments, out west of town.
Photo Gallery - High Meadow Apartment Homes . . . Because where you live really matters . . .

They are fairly newish and don't have as many college kids keeping you up all night partying. It's about the best you can get there if you don't rent a home.

Jones is a good guy, but I've never done business with him. He's also in the mortgage business.

Family members rent single family homes.in Durant. The hospital has resident docs who are there for a couple of years who are the primary renters.

Also with the college rent homes around the college are common too, but with the strong economy and college and hospital growth demand is strong too

Well, I did chose to live in Sherman, TX at Northside on Travis :Apartments for Rent in Sherman, TX | Northside on Travis - Home
These apartments and The Bridges on Travis are the most acceptable ones. Besides, I am not from small city and even Sherman kills me with nothing-to-do-there and long distances.

High Medow apartments in Durant are new but they are not gated and there are lots of trash around the complex...Looks quite disgusting. Due to the casino's been building new tower, bowling alley and movie theater more businesses and approx. 600 workers will arrive here by the end of 2015. All cities around the casino will expand pretty soon. Whoever owns land here will be the lucky one, it seems to me it is the best investment nowadays.

I was in Durant last weekend and noticed the contruction on the new tower at the casino. They seem to be a pretty good neighbor for Durant and to run a good operation for their tribe members from what I can see from afar. Living in Sherman is what about a 30 minute commute to the casino? Yet you are less than an hour from the northern suburbs of Dallas to access more bigger city things to do.

I know good housing is already short in Durant and the new hiring will certainly make things worse.

Yep, 30 min is right.
My boss is leaving Durant in couple weeks. He is a young fellow and he and his wife could not adjust themselves for life in Durant. They are moving back to Michigan. I do not know how long I will be able to live here. Definitely, Durant is very small city. I would rather live in Plano but commute would be painful
