Things change fast in this line of work. Ca. is now requiring that "Catalytic converters" be used on mowers by next year.

"Repair" is the wrong word. They all work, they've just had that thing that holds the wacker thread - line? - whatever, tightened so hard that it was impossible to get them off to replace the cutting line with either more line or one of those 'lifetime' blade things. Seems like the average person just doesn't have a bucket big enough to soak the remaining glop [the trimmings that turn into cement] off, or a wrench big enough to hold and turn the clamped on line guard. Or whatever it is. The gas one, I dunno. One of our neighbors couldn't get it to work - he prides himself on being a 'real mechanic' but he couldn't adjust the carburetor in his car well enough to keep it from puking enough raw gas out the exhaust so it could be smelled a block away. Probably the only thing wrong with that weedeater is the previous 'I can fix anything' mechanic.
How are they proposing to add a catalytic converter to push mowers?
