Guthrie is probably my favorite. Other downtowns that I've been to that I like are McAlester, Durant, and Ardmore. One that I've not been to but have seen on Street View is Newkirk; the limestone buildings and the courthouse are stunning!

I havent visited most towns in Oklahoma mentioned here but grew up in Durant, attended OSU in Stillwater and points between. Ive seen OKC recently and Norman as well as Ardmore.

Durant downtown is looking better in terms of being clean and old buildings in use and looking good. Durant does have a Walmart and Lowe's. Both of these are located on the first bypass around Downtown that was built decades ago. So you have a wally world big box world along the bypass toward the lake while Downtown did not die as many in town business predicted when the bypass was built. Some of the side streets down town do look less in use but not along mainstreet now. There is a little museum downtown called Three Rivers musuem. Its on main street in an older building which was an auto dealer and a small time manufacturer related to air transport years ago. It really is a neat place, the docents or what ever you call those telling you about the place are locals including one 92 year old I know well
