Apartments in Stillwater?
Howdy all, it's very likely that my wife and I will be headed to Stillwater in May and are in need of some... unbiased opinions about the apartments there. If anyone has pictures of any interiors that would rock my socks smooth off. (Seems the apartment sites are reluctant to post indoor pics...) Currently our maximum rent is 500/mo and we're looking for a two bedroom place that allows small pets. (4 pound dog)
Does anyone know anything about these guys in particular? Cedar Oaks Apartments - Stillwater, OK
Any info and/or opinions are greatly appreciated!

What area
How close/not close do you want to be to the school. Or does it matter?
West 19th seems kind of far out to me.
It has been about 6 years since I have lived in Stillwater and I think the housing situation has changed quite a bit.
Only one of the places that I lived still stands.
I just drove through there in December and it looked like they had built some really nice places just off of 177 on the North side.
$500 will probably get you an alright place but not a great place. Six years ago my last apartment was $500/month for a fairly new, nice, and small 2 bedroom town home close to campus. I am sure rents have increased since then. There are a lot of new complexes.

It's been 6 years for me, too...
I haven't lived in Stillwater since 2002 myself. Agreed that the city has changed a LOT in that time (for the better).
The trick with apartments in Stillwater is the college crowd. Assuming you'd want to choose some that aren't popular with them, then I'd imagine those you found would fit the bill. That's pretty far from campus.
Another ones you may try are called Squires Landing off 6th. They're also far from campus, but they're older.
I personally lived in Apple Creek off Perkins. It was average.
I would avoid Forty North off Boomer. Stillwater PD visit there often.

$500/month for a two bedroom is not going to knock your socks off in Stillwater. Stillwater has been booming in regards to housing over the past few years. Might take a look at this web site:

Thanks for the replies, please keep them coming!
I'll avoid forty-north, doesn't sound like anywhere I want to live. I checked out the henneberry site, some of the places are reasonable, but still no interior shots. I think we're just gonna have to make a trip up there and go apartment hunting....

Minasian Rental
We have some 2-bedroom availability left in your price range.
307 S Benjamin. 2/1. Single family home! W/D hookups, fenced yard, storm cellar, storage shed, dishwasher, fridge, stove, $550/month with cooking gas paid. Electric central heat/ac.
1820-1/2 S Perkins Road, downstairs duplex unit. 2/1. Window ac, small fenced yard. Fridge, stove, doggie door to yard. $400/month.
Best of all? Our pet policy is a simple $50/pet onetime nonrefundable deposit - this is the best in the area. Also, you are dealing directly with the owners and not some management company.
These will go fast. Contact me off-board if you like or send a PM for interior shots.

Hi, my husband and I are moving to Stillwater in August. He will be teaching in the English department at OSU. I saw your post about a single-family home for rent on Benjamin. Is that still available? You can respond to my email address if you want: melissahussain@gmail.com
Thanks so much,
Melissa Hussain
