Default Oklahoma Musician Thread

Are there any musicians in Oklahoma or soon to be Okies that are wanting to keep in touch in a musical sense?

Well, here's the place. Chat openly about music in general and perhaps meet up with other musicians that want to hook up and start a band of any kind!

This is a great idea! I love music -- don't play anything, but sing a little bit. I like to go out to hear local bands. It's always fun.

I've got a Fender Strat, An Ibanez Destroyer(1970's Explorer copy), an Applause acoustic, a Yamaha acoustic, an Epiphone bass, And an old lap steel.

Unfortunately, my computer is 'bout 10 years old & very low tech(so am I), so I have no way to upload pictures. what do you play?

I heard it was illegal to have an old computer in OK.
(Don't listen to me, I'm still from NH.)

Bass, vocals, guitar, drums and keys...
In order of proficiency..

Not that I have a clue, but I imagine there'd be a LOT of work in Tulsa.

Hey Boris,
It's good to hear from you. We musicians must stick together. Tulsa has a very lively music scene and Tulsa has it's own history in Rock 'n Roll.

For one, the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame is in Tulsa. D-Fest in Tulsa is one of the biggest musical events in the country. HUGE crowds and the event lasts for days and days; it is comparable to Woodstock.

Leon Russell is from Tulsa. Although he was born in Lawton, he is a famous Tulsa musician. There are dozens of others.

Caines Ballroom is one of the most historic venues in the entire country.

This is just a sample of the Tulsa music scene. Tulsa has a very active music scene and is a great place for musicians.

I LOVE the Oakridge Boys. One of their favorites of mine is "I guess it never hurts to hurt sometimes."
