I like Pauls Valley as a place to live. It is big enough, but has a real small town feel. Plus, you have a fairly short drive to OKC or Dallas.
But Broken Bow is a very poor, run down looking town. One can do much better than that when moving to Oklahoma. Maybe the poster meant Broken Arrow.

No, you read it right. I did write Broken Bow. Last Fall, a gentlemen came in to the pharmacy from Broken Arrow. I told him I had heard of it and my love for OK. He said it was a pretty place but nothing like Northern NH. It's big and growing. The way he continued made Broken Arrow sound like it was a "Bedroom Town" to Tulsa. I know nothing about Broken Bow. It looked like it was greener place, but also more tourist or summer folk area. Sorry to hear it is a poor area. I love the country and after dealing with people all day.....I like peace and quiet of a small country town. However, I know the need for the town to be growing, but a controlled growth. I Presently live in Country, poor, pretty but very, very little grown and winters that are hard, cold and way too long. OK, enough negative....sorry

Default Walgreens in Oklahoma

I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A wonderful city, not too large like LA and NYC and not too small....just right. Has a lot of fun things to do and places to go. The friendliest people around. Broken Arrow is a bedroom community of Tulsa and has grown a lot in recent years. The majority of people living in Broken Arrow and other bedroom communities surrounding Tulsa work in Tulsa.

I just interviewed with Walgreens yesterday and was offered a job as a beauty advisor. The pay isn't great, though there are other possibilities and good benefits. I was just wondering what employees have to say about Walgreens? I haven't accepted the job yet, considering it though.

Welcome to the forum Marsonda! I love Tulsa much as you do, even though I don't live there currently (I live in Texas).

It's a good question you ask to Walgreen's employees. We have a Walgreens close to my house and their people are very helpful and friendly. I would think that goes a long way in saying how well the company treats its employees.

Good luck and once again, welcome to City-Data!

I live in Duncan and there is a Walgreens here. (isn't that called "The Corner Store"?)
Duncan is very country, but no night life to speak of.

I really can't say enough good things about Walgreens. They treat their employee's well. I work for them as a Pharmacy tech and for me the pay is competitive. Today being Leap Day, the corporation allowed us to take 25% off our purchases. AT Christmas time we got almost 50% off. They offer Profit sharing and after you have been there for a year, you can buy stocks in Walgreens at 10% less.
The atmosphere is friendly and like an old time drug store. We are nice to the "Patients" and encouraged to treat them as friend and not "customers".If your looking for a place to advance, there are opportunites for that and you are encourage and supported.
I don't think you will be sorry. Janie
