Default Anyone work for Walgreens?

Good Morning
My name is Jane and have been trying to get in here for a while now. Finally made it.
I have been reading and picked lots of info about OK and where I might like to look to settle.
My other hope is to stay with Walgreens and relocate south of Pauls Valley.
If someone out there could give me some suggestions and maybe word of an opening for a pharmacy tech( 8 plus years).
In the mean time, I'll keep reading and learning more about this state I've been interested in since I was a kid. JanieK

Welcome to the forum necabin! That's a good idea, to stay with your company and relocate. There are Walgreens everywhere so it shouldn't be that difficult. Since you work for them, wouldn't it be easy to check into openings in the area you are interested in? Usually transfers are encouraged in companies because a happy employee is a better employee. Good Luck!

Thanks for the "Welcome". It's fun coming in here and viewing the photos and learning more about OK.
I'm trying the internal route as well, but I thought maybe............... My next step is to make a few phone calls.
The areas that sound like they might be for me are Pauls Valley ; Duncan; Lawton;Ada ; Ardmore and over toward Broken Bow.
Any words of wisedom on these towns? Jane

Those are all nice smaller cities, necabin. What are you looking for in a new home? I am most familiar with Ada.

I was born in Ada and raised in the surrounding areas, so I can tell you quite a bit about Ada. Pauls Valley is a very nice town as well. LadyRobyn can tell you more about Duncan, as can MKFarnum, as they both live there. Ardmore is okay to me, but I really haven't spent enough time in the city to get a feel for the place. Broken Arrow is not a small town; it's a suburb of Tulsa and growing pretty fast. It is nice though. I lived there at one time.

What do I want, hm-m-m-m-m, where do I start? Just joking.
Definitely small, rural town. That is what I am. Raising chicken, garden, like to walk and take pictures. Mainly looking for, warmer weather, shorter winters.
Always been in 'love' with a western way of life.
It is just me now, so that will play into it as well.
Walgreens has been good for me, and that is why I want to stay with them.
I have to admit, I am sorta partial to Pauls Valley. Why? the name. Yeah, I know!!!!!
However, what I have read about Duncan sounds good. Not to much yet on Ada, or Ardmore, other then Walgreens pharmacies in town.
Broken Bow....??????????????

Broken Bow is in a beautiful mountainous area of SE Oklahoma. It doesn't have a western flavor, to me. It is kind of isolated.

I like Pauls Valley as a place to live. It is big enough, but has a real small town feel. Plus, you have a fairly short drive to OKC or Dallas.

We've only been in the eastern part of the state, but I didn't get a "western" feeling there at all.

Maybe I'm all wrong then. Is the eastern part more southern like Arkansaw?
Whatever, I'm hoping it is warmer then NH with winter being from Dec to Mar or there about.
I have just had enough of cold, snow up to a gieaffe's chin and and long winters. Ours are generally 5 to 6 months. October to sometimes May.
It is depressing.

Hiya Jane. I didn't know you were looking in the Duncan area! We do have a nice Walgreen's here. (They are our 'chosen' pharmacy) I know they are looking for 'store manager' positions right now, but I am not sure about Pharmacy techs... they do seem to have a rather 'healthy' turnover in that dept. though. (New faces every time I go in )

Duncan is just the right size for us... not too big and not too small. We have a Super Wal-Mart in town, but there are cattle just a few blocks up the road, so I can hear them lowing in the early morning.
