Welcome to Stillwater! Have steak at the Texas Roadhouse. Besides the rolls, the steaks are real nice. If you like Mexican food don't pass up that fancy Mexican food place not far from Motel 6.

Thanks StillwaterTownie! I will definitely check out the Texas Roadhouse and the Mexican Restaurant right next to Motel 6! Just woke up from my nap and feel refreshed. Now probably going to head out in Stillwater again! Cheers!

Casey

Hey Casey! Glad you made here safe and sound. Unless there are some oddball liquor laws in the County up there, it is probably just like Stephens County... You can DRINK alcohol any day you like, you just can't BUY Hard Liquor on Sundays or some Holidays. You can still get Beer any day of the week afaik... Check around for other casinos in the area... not all of them have a 21 age requirement. The one down here is 18 and up...

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

By the way, the Texas Roadhouse doesn't open until 4pm. It's not a bad idea to get reservations if you can't make it by 5pm to reduce the wait for a table. That restaurant is a big hit in Stillwater. Also your mother might like the shopping center, Lakeview Point, that's by the Texas Roadhouse. Most of its stores seem to be of interest to women.

In downtown Stillwater, the restaurant to go to is Aggie's Big House at 7th and Husband, pictured below. (It's all on the 2nd floor, so not as big in size as it looks.) The Monterrey chicken breast is among their delights. It's closed on Sunday. A cool thing they do is start you out with a mini loaf of bread brought out on a wooden paddle. Across the street from that restaurant the courthouse with the new county jail is quite a sight, at least for Stillwater.

On E. Hall of Fame Ave. or nearby there's a bunch of mostly chain type restaurants. Take your pick. However, I haven't been well impressed with Mexico Joe's or Joe's Italian Kitchen. If I want something like lasagna, I'd sooner get it at the Sirloin Stockade on Monday when it's Italian food day.

Sirloin Stockade and the New China Buffet are great for all you can eat at one price.

The nearest casino from Stillwater that allows 18 year olds in is called 7 Clans Paradise. It's about 20 miles north of Stillwater.

Sorry about the wind but there are times when it's liable to blow both day and night. Most visitors notice the wind. At least this cold front swept in without any severe weather unlike elsewhere.

Thanks StillwaterTownie. I'll try to check out as many of those places you recommended as possible.

I really like it around here. It has a small town kind of feel to it that I have never really experienced before. There are still quite a few Mom and Pop Shops unlike back home where everything is all corporatized.

LadyRobyn: I sure hope there is a casino around here where the age requirement is 18. There are no casinos in Maryland and since I just recently turned 18 I'd like to use that new power that I have of being an adult.

Well everyone, it's been a long, tiring, exciting day so I am signing off for the night. I'm sure I'll post back up here sometime tomorrow but until then goodnight and everyone have a wonderful Mothers Day!

Casey

Our meat pies are meat and potatoes inside a frybread, deep fried.

We have some specialty foods for the ceremonials. I have never liked pecan pie, its too sweet for me.
That explains why my family ate commods aye. I always thought those cans with no labels were fun. Its mystery food. You just improvise once you open it. Man i loved it when it was beef stew.

You never had commod cheese in the meat pies? The only time when we had meat pies without the cheese was when we didn't have the commod cheese. It don't taste the same.
