You gotta be kidding me, that's like someone saying the winter is always mild in Denver. Sure it is but they do get blizzards. South of I-40 I'd say forget about it, the amount of times you need it isn't even worth it. But plenty of places in Oklahoma seem to get dumped on, Ponca City and Bartlesville for example. You could make it without if you really wanted to but I prefer to clear my drive of slush rather than letting it sit and melt for days on end.

We retired in the summer of 2000. One of the first best retirement memories came in that first winter, when it snowed and we didn't have to worry about getting up that hill on Douglas Boulevard so we could get to work!!!

Now for all of you who are still young and have to go to work no matter what - - I will kindly accept your boos and hisssssssssssssssssssssssssses.

He exaggerated a little, everyone does. You can make a snowman, sheesh

I should just get over it, it's the same with that as how everyone says it's constantly over 110 here in the summer, yeah...not in the least. Everyone seems to be more proud when they tout how extreme the weather in their location is.

I'll take what I can get. All I know is that I'm moving before it does hit 110 here and I won't have to pay $450/mo for electricity x 3 months for a/c. Name: AddEmoticons04283.gif

We pay $160/month regularly for our electric bill. We have OG&E average out the bill, so the bill is consistent each month rather than large bills in the summer.

Don is very asthmatic and our AC runs 24/7 during the summer months clear into October or so. We are going to invest in a window unit for Don's room because I like to open the windows during the summer nights. I just can't see cooling the entire house when we only need to cool one room.
