Need Internet Service Provider in Ada
Hi all - my mother lives on a county road in Ada. It's not like way the heck off the beaten path, but is newer homes and as she gets more neighbors I suppose some cable co will run a line down the road. Can anyone recommend an Internet Provider that we can talk to? I'll check online but I wanted any feedback, 'cause some are better than others.
cheers!

Hi Nomad. Could she possibly get AT&T DSL?? We finally went with them after getting tired of dial-up. I wouldn't say that we get blazing fast speeds, but it does quite nicely. So far it has been very reliable and they have some pretty sweet deals right now. ($30.00 a month for service, a free modem and $50.00 cash back) No *term* commitment, so if something better comes along she can always switch.
If you do the installation (which is VERY simple) you won't have any installation charges.
I can DM you a link if you need.

In St. Joseph MO where we live now - we get at&t dsl for $14.95 a month - paid annually. It's okay but has some problems - all the tech support are in India and hard to understand. We have a router and network to 5 computers that works fine except for email. The few times I've gone on tech support to get computer 2 email going - they got it going and this one quit.
Also yahoo has this insane habit of grabbing some of your emails (both spam and valued) and putting it on Yahoo.com - where so far I haven't been able to get it back to outlook express and they charge extra to let you do that.
All this in spite of me having all filters turned off.
Still overall it's okay for the money. I'd try it in oklahoma too, (pressure at&t a little - they've been advertising $14.95 a month a lot of places) like we will when we can get moved there - my home state.
