It's pouring here in Mustang. I think my storm cellar is flooding again. The area around it is lower than the grass, so the water is about two or three inches deep there. The front and back yards are flooded also. We just got through pumping out the storm cellar and the overflow on the pool cover. Looks like we'll have to do it all over again.

Definitely go for southern Oklahoma then.

This rain is another one of those "enjoy it while it lasts" things. As you all know, last summer with the rain was rare

I didn't get any rain this morning, Lady Robyn. I live in that brown spot that Sayre is in, along I-40 on the far west edge of the State. I agree with those of you who don't like the extreme heat of the summers here. I moved here in March, 1996, from Albuquerque, and I, too, remember the heat in 1998. I went to work as a Companion/helper to an elderly Lady in Reydon, near Cheyenne. I remember seeing 115 degrees on the bank thermometer one day in May, 1998.
I grew up in New Mexico, married a Florida boy at 18, moved to Florida in 1959, and lived there (Orlando area) until 1982, then back to New Mexico (Hobbs) for 2 years, then Midland, Texas in 1984 until 1988-then to Albuquerque, taking a detour to Roswell,NM, Oct., 1992-May, 1994, then on to Oklahoma in 1996. The summer heat here has affected me worse than any weather condition anywhere I've lived. I'm not sure whether it's because I'm getting older or what.

Jackie Morrow, It does look like this morning's rain went right around you! But there is still more coming... maybe by this evening you'll get some.

Ours is still going strong and I swear I can see my lawn 'greening up' by the hour!

I hope you take a lot of pictures and post them!

In Oklahoma, we wish for snow.

Really?
One of the MANY reasons we're coming to OK
is because we're sick of the ^%#^$@* snow!
(We set records this year.)

Sure enough, as soon as you move there CG, they'll probably get a record dumping. Then, everyone will vote you as snow king; you'll be celebrated state-wide until everyone gets sick of the snow.. Then, they'll visit your house one night, with pitchforks!

When it snows most of us get a day off. And it is pretty to see.
