Default Enjoy the Nice Weather...

While it's here...because before you know it, it will be summer. I honestly don't know anyone who likes the summer weather here, everyone eventually seems to think it's too hot or long. I think it's too hot from Mid May - Mid September (when most days are 90+)

Summer down here is just something you have to deal with. The positive way to look at it is that the rest of the year can be very good, and you only have to pay your dues in the summertime.

The summer I remember most is the summer of '98. One day in September, the high temp was 111 (yup, no typo).

That's why I appreciate the good weather we're having this week!

I pretty much hate the summer. I can take it up to the 4th of July usually, but then I kind of hibernate until September, sometimes it stays hot in October too. But, I do enjoy the winters here.

Frankly, I like the summer........the smell of grass........burning in the distance......

that hot damp blanket of humidity just before a thunderstorm..........that creates tornadoes.......

The feel of the cold water creeks in the flint hills of northeast Oklahoma

the nearly silent buzz of flys........combined with the hum of yellow jackets as they swarm when you mow over their nest..........

Picking the ticks of dogs...........and each other.........

drinking gallons of water without going to the bathroom..........

Yep, I love Oklahoma summers..........

I'm like you Peggy. It's okay up until about July 4th, and then it drags on and on and I can't wait for Fall. And it's even WORSE down here in Texas!!

I do enjoy the Fall and Winter here, A LOT. The Spring is okay, but I know what it's preparing to be (Summer) and much like the people way up North where they hate the Winter, it's the same with me and Summers down here.

Shoot, tell it like it is, and every sickofthesnow jerk will be coming looking for manna and the promised land here instead of Florida or San Diego or Honolulu. Every one of those snow bound boys need to move to Pensacola or Panama City or Galveston or anyplace but here...... we are filling it up faster than we like just from our own kids and the other folks that are smart enough to figure it out for themselves. so yeah, when you get scorpions the size of dinner plates and tarantulas big enough to ring the door bell and it's 120 degrees in the shade, that northern country looks pretty good to those dissatisfied fellas..............

I could not agree with you more. I've noticed a lot of people moving, or wanting to move to Oklahoma lately.

Folks, we've got some serious bugs and weather down here, so think before you leap! With the exception of people like TheComputerGuy, colleen, and bjb123 (from Ohio). There are a few others I left out, for sure. But you people know who you are!

Oops, I left out J & R.. He's a good one to bring in to the fold..

You really gave me a good laugh with this one. I'm sure it's all true, but I'll find out for myself soon.!
