Oh I miss my pickup, but when I got my Dog....there was no room. So, I have a Pontiac Vibe. Love it. put all the seats down and I can get as much into it as a pickup. Just a might picker as to WHAT I put in. Still, I love pickups!
I had forgotten that legal speed out there is 70 to 75. Heavens, all we can legally do here is 60 -65. I think I have to develop a lead foot for OK. Z-O-O-O-O-O-M!!!!!

The freeways out here are nothing like Ca.(Thank God). The people think that the"Free" in freeway means "Free to speed". Out there, there are so many freeways that they turn out to be the main connection to the shortest distance. When I left they were just finishing a freeway(I-210) 2 blocks from my place.
Well, it's hard to speed these days unless you're driving at 3 am. The freeways are packed no matter what time of the day. People driving somewhere at all hours. I wonder where do these people work (yeah right).

I have seen pics of Pegs monster truck. I would say that behemoth tells tall tales about their lavish lifestyle!!

I don't know what MK or Synopse drive, but I would say Synopse's vehicle is very utilitarian... like a an off-white corolla or sedan with no frills. MK would have at some time owned a van full of tools and odds and ends.

You pretty much nailed me MK. I just took this pic this morning. It's an 03 Tacoma, 5-speed. The only "frills" this pickup has is air conditioning. It's five years old, but only has 36K miles and stays parked in the garage when it's not being used.

Is that what they are known as? Taco, short for Tacoma? Pretty neat. And all this time I never knew. I figure that little pickup ought to last me a good long time. The last vehicle I had before that was a 1989 Toyota Camry with 287,000 miles on it. The ONLY reason I got rid of the car was because the air conditioning went out and it would have cost a small fortune (more than the car was worth) to have a new one put in. That car was the best car I'd ever owned and it's what sold me on Toyota. The little taco get's really good gas mileage too; almost 30 miles per gallon.

That was Dec 10, 2007 during the ice storm. It was colder in the house than it was outside since there was no electricity. It is a 2003 Lexus I bought used in 2004. It is easily the best vehicle I've ever owned. I'll likely try to buy another used one some day although I doubt this one will ever wear out while I have it. It replaced a 1998 Honda Civic by the way.

It sounds like you folks do not have to worry about rust and the problems associated with that. Nice to hear of a vehicle outlasting the payments.
Nice looking cars.
BTW....I never knew about the term TACO either.

Rust is the last thing you have to worry about down here in Texas, and for the most part, in Oklahoma as well. The 89 camry I owned had almost 300,000 miles on it and didn't have a bit of rust on it. It had an electric sunroof, power windows and locks, and everything still worked like new. And I really liked the look of the 89 camry; still do to this day. That, and the Toyota Cressida, which was the precursor to the Lexus.

89 Camry

Cressida
