Sally Kerns...? Representing Oklahoma...?
Who would of ever thought that a gay person would have more of a threat than a terrorist? I am not sure if Sally Kerns has been paying attention to the news or not but I am pretty sure that this whole terrorism thing is not over a gay person... is it? Unless the terrorists were masked anal pirates running around with explosives and bombs and taking down our planes. I do not hear this woman complaining about gays when it is time for her to gather up supporters for her campaign. People like her, I so wish that someone she loves so dearly would just jump out of the closet in full gay gear and say I'M HERE I'M *****! I also think that the reason she does not like gays is because they do not hit on her... seriously, have you seen what this woman looks like?
Well, off to write to our lovely representative!!

I'm guessing she's a big ol' closet case Lesbian. You know, those who scream the loudest against something, usually are one. Examples: Gov. Spitzer was a big prosecutor against prostitution, Larry Craig is anti-gay, yet cruises toilets, Ted Haggard preached against homosexuality yet had a man-***** on the side, Congressman Mark Foley was anti-pediphile publicly while chasing male pages at work, etc.
I'll bet that Gary Bauer and Ralph Reed are closet cases too.

My email to Sally...
From: REMOVED FOR SECURITY REASONS
To: sallykern@okhouse.gov
Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2008 12:27:01 PM
Subject: If you say you are a Christian
What happened to the scripture "Judge not for you shall be judged?" You can sit there and talk about how you hate gays and they are bad this and should not be alive that, isn't that judging someone? Who gave you the right to do that? You are a representative for Oklahoma, it is a job! Do you see me judging you? Do you realize how many gay people probably got you in office anyway? Oh wait, maybe we don't have the right to vote. Maybe we should not have the right to vote if we are going to be stupid enough to support someone like you, with your views. Afterall, according to you, we are worse than terrorists! It is people like you that bring the suicide level up a notch. People that hate are just full of hate for themselves and lashing out at others is the only way for them to deal with their own insecurities. People that hate are just jealous! Are all heterosexual people like you, look like you, talk like you? No, most are a lot better than that. Just because you happen to be one of the bad ones does not mean that the whole rest of them are bad, you do not see anyone hating on them, do you? You base your opinions on truths that you yourself can not accept, fears that hide within you. Admit it, you are afraid you are a lesbian, what with all your womens clubs, right? I do not think you would like it very much if people went around commenting on your life style when they have no right or idea of what you are about.
Since you think you know so much let me tell you about me. Yes, I am a lesbian. Yes, I have had a commitment ceremony with my partner, my wife! We have a daughter, 12 years old. She has friends, she goes to school, she does well in school. She is not teased nor is she led to believe that this is the life we want her to lead. We tell our daughter that we want her to be who she wants to be and we will love her no matter what. We tell her that we do not care what color boyfriend she comes home with and yes Sally, she has boyfriends! Both my wife and I work and not some burger flipping job, we have good jobs that pay well. We do not get put down or critized at work for being lesbians. We get our share of pay increases and promotions. We also have a small business of our own and guess what, our clients know we are lesbians! I guess not all people are as small minded as you are!
Sally, I am not judging you. I am not blogging about you. Creating rumors about you. Would you like me to start?
My mom taught me two valuable things:
1. Think before you speak.
2. Just when you think no one is listening...
I hope you have a very plesant day.

The video doesn't work on that link.
Richard Simmons does not represent the gay world, just as Osama Bin Laden doesn't represent every muslim.
Quote from Kern's alleged speech: "[homosexuality] according to God's word, that is not the right kind of lifestyle. It has deadly consequences for those people involved in it.... [they] have more suicides… there's more illness, their life spans are shorter… studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades. This stuff—it's deadly and it's spreading, and it will destroy our young people. It will destroy this nation. Not everybody's lifestyle is equal, just like not all religions are equal."
Westboro Baptist Church! Party of one!
News update Kern: homosexuality does not "spread". A person cannot catch homosexuality, like a person catches a contagious disease. Which society has totally embraced homosexuality? My god, how incredibly stupid can one person get?
Not all religions are equal? Don't muslim exremists believe in killing infidels? I believe muslim extremists and her views are closer than she realizes.

Mrs. Kern is a total disgrace to Oklahoma. Some politicians like her are simply fond of scapegoating gays to get votes and campaign money. She would like to take us back to the highly embarrassing time of the late 1990's in Oklahoma when people like her were trying to ban Penthouse and the movie, "The Tin Drum". I thought such ridiculous items in the news were over, but Kern wants to bring them back.
Her voters should get rid of Kern come November. But that is far from a sure thing. As I understand it, the person who occupied the legislative seat before Kern was Bill Graves who shared with her pretty much the same views. He strongly supported getting, "The Tin Drum" banned.
And her rantings had to surface when so much great publicity was getting out about Oklahoma to take much pride in, such as Oklahoma City getting ready to become a big league city from the pro Ford Center vote, and Devon's announcement to build a new skyscraper.
If Republican political principles are worthy of upholding and voting for, it shouldn't require any Republican politician feeling a need to bash and scapegoat gays in order to get support.

I do NOT have a problem with christians who believe homosexuality is a sin. However, relegating gay rights activists to being comparable to 911 Islamic extremist terrorists is completely wrong.
Now, I do try and keep an open mind, if Rep. Kern would've stepped up to the plate and explained HOW she feels gay rights activists are as dangerous as 911 terrorists, I would listen.
Not only did she sidestep the terrorist analogy, but she ran to the safety net of saying the Bible states homosexuality is a sin and she would not apologize for her statement.
No one asked for an apology about the bible stating that homosexuality is a sin.
The gay populace is saying she needs to apologize for saying gay rights activists are like terrorists.
And (this is directed to Rep. Kern) she acted like a coward and not like a true voice of God by not speaking to the gay protesters at the OK State Capitol. Any christian will take any insult, ridicule, and even death for taking a stance for God. Her hiding from protestors sends a different message.
A snippet below is the definition of terrorism. Albeit wikipedia is "one source" and I do realize in academic circles wikipedia is not a good source because anyone can add/edit the definitions, but for this post, it gives a good indication of what the word terrorism means.
Terrorism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Terrorism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Few words are as politically or emotionally charged as terrorism.[2] One 1988 study by the US Army found that over 100 definitions of the word "terrorism" have been used.[3] Acts of terrorism are not intended to merely victimize or eliminate those who are killed, injured or taken hostage but rather to intimidate and influence the societies to which they belong.[citation needed]
Many putative definitions of terrorism define as "terrorism" only those acts which are intended to create fear (terror), are perpetrated for an ideological goal and by a member or members of a group (as opposed to being carried out in a lone attack), and which deliberately target, or else disregard the safety of, non-combatants (civilians). Many definitions also include only acts of unlawful violence as opposed to "lawful acts of war"."

If your speaking out in favor of gay rights, that's fine and dandy. If you don't agree and speak out, your crucified. Thank Mrs Kern. Keep speaking out. You have the absolute right to.
