Heading to an event in Ft Wa****a in April, and am looking for a good place to camp around the fort. I see there is Lake Texoma state park within about 30 mins, but some things I read sound like it got sold and is in disrepair, so I wonder about the safety of it. I have also seen some Corps of Engineer places along the east side of Lake Texoma, but not much info on them.

Can anyone comment on Lake Texoma state park with current info, or the Corps sites, or possibly recommend a good spot to set a tent up and have a campfire?

LOL. Fort Was.h.i.t.a The software used here cracks me up.

Go to Lake Murray and the newly renovated state park building there. You'll avoid a lot of the tejans on Texoma.

Eat at BG's Catfish in Kingston. It'll be some of the best stuff you've ever put in your mouth. *mouth watering*
