Necabin says,"Hi"
Yes, I'm back from Oklahoma and what a time I had. What a fantastic state. If anyone says to me again how flat, and plain it is will be corrected by me.
I also can't say enough about Oklahoma men. Oh my heavens they are so kind and respectful of women. AND I mean all ages. It is apparently a trait that is started at a young age.
I wish I could also say that it is going to be my next home, but I can't. The wages they wanted to pay to the cost of living just was not a winning combo for me. As many of you know, and new folks....Heads up. Rental are very few and far between. I found some, but the least expense nice one was still too much with what I would be earning. Figuring in too, the cost of living and utilities. I only have one other loan and my car loan. No credit cards.
Well, I had a great time and my only big regret was I didn't catch up with LadyRobyn. I didn't get her email in time.
I did alot of criss crossing of the lower part of the state and saw so many sights, and yes...........took alot of pictures. Visited several wildlife refuges where I was lucky enough to be able to just stand or walk for awhile and listen to the quiet and wind on the prairie. Oh, what a moment.
Do me a big, big favor and keep Oklahoma Grand. necabin

If I can adjust from the cost of living in California to the cost of living in Oklahoma, it shouldn't be that hard for you.,,,,and I'm unemployed at the present moment.

necabin, I'm sorry it won't work out for you here. At least you got a nice vacation out of the deal. Yes, we do have great men in this state!
Synopsis, I think necabin is a pharmacy tech.

I find myself missing Oklahoma very much. More then once I have wondered if I played it too safe. Just have gone for it!!!!!!!!!!
Well, too late now. Just keep reminding myself of Mom's words, " Something is better on the horizon."
I did check out the work/job site and was surprised how many posts there were for pharmacy technicians.
Anyway, another trip is coming up, and that one is to Texas. My husband and I are going our to visit his brother that lives in Lometa. Somewhere near Killeen.
So, when will I return to Oklahoma? Don't know, but will be checking out the eastern half. Tulsa down to Idabel.
How bad is winter there?

Tulsa: Usually an ice storm every year with two or three decent snowfalls. (3-5 inches) and mostly highs in the 40's and lows in the 20's.
Idabel: Almost non existent, maybe one decent snowfall, if that and lots of highs in the 50's and lows in the 30's.

Are you going to take the fastest route, or the most scenic?

Missing Oklahoma like I am.......I'll take either route!
I am hoping maybe to come back again this year (Aug/Sept) to "check things out". I'll get into the area fast, then, slow down to less traveled highways and back roads to hopefully see the real area.
Need to do this Texas trip 1st, then plan my 2nd invasion of Oklahoma.
What are the newspapers in that area of the state?

Hey necabin if you are wanting to see a beautiful view come through Heavener on your way to Texas. This is what they call the Mountain Gateway, as you go through Heavener you will see the mountains in the south, but before you leave Heavener you have to stop by and see the Runestone, where the vikings came through, there are carvings in a huge stone that were made by the vikings. There are 2 lakes close by that have camping and good fishing, Wister Lake is only about 7 miles away, and there is Cedar Lake, it has an Equestrian camp, it has lots of camp sites and trails to ride on.
If you know of anyone wanting to buy I have a house comming up for sale, it is a really nice home and in an area of a community of its own, the kids all play together here, all new and nice homes and the school bus comes right by the house.
We have bought us some acerage over in Talihina, we have horses so we are going to sale our home that we have completely redone, it is hard to leave but if we don't we will have to sell our horses. I am too attached.
Necabin, we are all pretty good people and I am not just tootin my own horn here, but us okies are perty nice people if I don't say so my self, we always smile and speak and ask how ya doing. I hope you can make your home here, somewhere in Oklahoma anyhow, we would be glad to have ya.
