You may see a few inches, but that's about it. Occasionally you may get a 6-12 inches, but it usually melts within a few days. I think the average snowfall for Fort Sill is probably 5 inches a year.

Sometimes.
But it is usually pretty light and doesn't last long...maybe a few inches here and there but nothing of "blizzard" proportions. ![]() |

From the NWS
"The three largest population centers in Oklahoma - Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Lawton - all average one 4-inch or greater snowfall event every 1 to 2 years. Eight 8-inch or greater events average roughly one every 5 years in Tulsa, one every 5 to 10 years in Oklahoma City, and one every 10 to 20 years in Lawton." On this map, Comanche County only had 3 8-inch snows in fifty years. county totals for 8-inch events |

In that case, I can handle two snowy days. Having lived in Wisconsin for almost 7 years, definitely not planning on moving back there. Looking forward to getting to OK area.

You may only see a couple of inches once and a great while. But be prepared, it does get dang cold and its a dry cold that will cut when the hawk comes down over Mt Scott in the winter. As they say "colder than balls on a brass monkey."
This is for the Mods: For your information, a brass monkey was what they stack the cannon balls on, on the old wooden ships. And when the temperature would drop below a certain temp the " Brass Monkey" would contract and the cannon balls would roll across the deck of the ship. So, HA! You can't modslap me. ![]() |
