Also, if you want to see a really energetic group, with phenomenal guitar playing, check out Dragon Force:
Every generation seems to look down on their kids' music, but if you really listen to some of it, it's very good, and some of these artists are extremely talented.
Well Colleeng47,
Thats Okay with me if you don't agree with what I have to say, because I don't care, thats the beautiful thing about this country . I like to listen to my music and not force others to hear it outside of my truck. I wish Ohio would pass a state wide noise ordinance that would ban music being heard outside the vehicle passed a certain octave level. Some of these deaf kids force everyone around them the listen and all you can hear is BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! And if I can't understand what they are trying to sing, then I don't want to listen. I've always enjoyed Classic Rock, Country, Blue Grass and Bagpipe music. But even then if I can't understand what they are singing, I change the channel or just put in a CD.
In my line of work you had better be paying attention to your job and not a loud radio, others lives may depend on your attention to details. Alot of these young drivers come on the job site blasting their radios and the site forman tells them to turn it off, not down but OFF.
I enjoy listening to good "Pink Floyd" or "OZZY' from time to time.
I'm in southern California, inland valley. It was 102 yesterday. It shouldn't have been but who told the weather gods? Thankfully the next few days are going back to 75 of so, but when summer really hits, 102 would be a nice surprise. We hit 110 most of the summer.
I'm considering Ok and unless the humidity is extreme as long as the air is moving its tolerable.
I laugh when people think 85 is hot lol
What exact area...desert? I lived in LA County since birth and then OC for two years before moving this way a couple of years ago.....and it wasn't that often that it got above 100.
The humidity here isn't bad at all. The summers here are comparable to SoCal IMO. It's windy A LOT more and the winters (at least from my two years experience) are about 4 months of around freezing temps. If you could handle that, then you might want to consider a move here. It's a much slower lifestyle with other perks as well.

Well sorry Dad, but most of this noise they call music today, I wouldn't listen too.

Heck No, I can't stand that garbage. I don't think they know what they're saying. Its almost as bad as this abbreviating these kids do instead of just learning how to write. In my last Reserve unit I had a 18 year old kid send me a report on some work they completed at the Reserve Center. And he wrote it something like this. "We completed the 4 lite fixtures 4 da R/S so u can go look 2 see if it w done." Needless to say the report was deleted "by Me" and he was told to rewrite the whole report in English. I won't even look at it if they don't know how to write it plainly. To me that's just a sign of laziness. I know that I'm not the best speller or writer in the world, but atleast I try.
It stops blowing just when it is the hottest. Not that it never blows in the summer, just not like the wind we have in the winter and spring.
I know people that are not bothered at all by the heat, but it does bother me. The heat can also be dangerous. Our last hot summer we had people dying because they were working outside, who were not that old (40s), and relatively healthy.
People from hot climates probably don't mind the summers as much as the winters. I don't mind our winters that much, because you can always just dress more warmly.
